Hundreds of dogs are set to be on Mawgan Porth beach as a mass cocker spaniel meet up is held.

The event will take place on Saturday (28th May) and is inviting over 100 dogs and their owners to join together from 10am until 12.30pm.

In their previous event, over 100 people attending the meet up with their cocker spaniels and mix-breed cockers joined on the beach.

Jody Woolcock, organiser of event and owner of walking group Cornish Ramblings, said: "My dog was my saviour throughout the pandemic having her with me throughout because I live on my own. She's just great company and I think a lot of people have that with their own dogs.

"Our last event went really really well and I decided I wanted to do it again but we went in to lockdown so this year I'm putting it on for the second time. It's just a way of getting as many cocker spaniels and breeds of cockers in one place just to have a really fun morning".

Jody told us she set the event up with her dog Purdy, who she loves. She said: "I have a cocker spaniel, I take her out with me on my rambles every weekend and she's my absolute favourite thing in the world and I decided I wanted to do something in her honour, something for her.

"I'm hoping it will be a yearly event where we can get people from all over Cornwall and I'm hoping it'll become a bigger and better event each year".

The event will involve groups from local businesses including Bedruthan Hotel and Spa, Scarlet Hotel, Gibsons Dog Ice cream, Dicky Bags, and the Natural Cornish Pet Shop.
