Climate activists have been staging a final day of action over the G7 summit in Cornwall.

Extinction Rebellion took to the shores of St Ives to 'sink' a model of the G7 logo as part of their 'All Hands of Deck' theme.

They have been calling for a Citizens’ Assembly on climate and ecological justice to move beyond our broken parliamentary democracy and place power in the hands of citizens.

At Porthminster beach in the sunshine, campaigners have taken part in art installations, talks and what they call 'discobedience'.

One of those taking part was Colin from Ocean Rebellion.

"As the oceans heat they expand, and that means more flooding. They the world leaders need to act now. Not in 10 years' time, not in 50 years' time, they need to act now.

"If we don't turn it around, we are sunk. The human species on this planet, the human civilisation, is all but sunk, certainly the cities, there would be mass starvation as crops fail all over the world."

Simon is with Extinction Rebellion, he fears that a 2 degree rise in global temperatures would have a massive impact.

"If that happens, 100% of climate scientists agree now, that will set off a domino action that we cannot reverse, that will lead to these dramatic changes in weather.

"Not just heating, but tornados, massive storms, flooding that is going to wipe out crops, cold winters to hot.

"We're starting to see these changes in the climate already, unreasonable warm springs and wet summers, this is causing havoc with our crops, this is our food, and if we can't grow food we can't support the people."
