A safety warning goes out after a cliff fall near a lifeboat station on the north Cornwall coast.

Walkers around Padstow Lifeboat Station are being warned to stay away as officials say the area to the left of the steps is now very dangerous.

"There has been a cliff fall adjacent to the Padstow lifeboat access steps.

"Contractors are monitoring and assessing the area this week and the RNLI will be working with the landowners to ensure that a safe access is maintained for our volunteers.

"The station remains operational for Search and Rescue activity but will continue to be closed to the public.

"We urge people not to visit the site due to the potential for further falls and to allow the teams to carry out their work.

"Please be aware when visiting Cornwall that many cliffs are potentially unstable, stay clear of cliff edges and the base of cliffs and seek out and follow safety advice."
