Child suffers serious arm injury following crash with car on Lizard peninsula

A child has been rushed to hospital following a collision with a car on the Lizard peninsula.

Police say the boy suffered a serious injury to his arm when it happened in Mullion.

Polurrian Road was closed on Thursday morning while emergency services dealt with the situation.

The scene was cleared just before midday.

"Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a child in Polurrian Road, Mullion, Cornwall, at around 8.30am today 20 May.

"The boy was taken to Treliske Hospital with a serious arm injury.

"Road closures were put in place to allow emergency services to deal with the situation and they were clear again just before noon."
