Cornish primary school appeals to McFly's Tom Fletcher to visit them
The avid readers of the singer's books have invited him to drop by when he's in Cornwall for the Eden Sessions
Year 6 pupils at Charlestown Primary School have made a direct appeal to the lead singer of McFly.
They have rewritten lyrics to the band's song Stargirl and created a YouTube video in a special plea.
The kids were already avid fans of Tom Fletcher's books including 'The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas'.
But when they heard he would be at the Eden Session just around the corner they got to work and created a special tribute.
Now they are asking the star to please pop by for a visit when he's in Cornwall this weekend.
And they are hoping that he watches their video...
Why do the kids want him to come and visit?
"It will be an inspiration to keep going and to look how far he's gone in his life, and how we can achieve what he's achieved. It would be something we'd remember through our life."
11 year old Aoife
"I just think it would be a great opportunity for the younger years to have seen an author and be read too. He could help people get more inspired by writing."
11 year old Naomi
"It would be quite exciting because I love all of his books. It would also mean a lot to the younger people because it would inspire them to read more."
11 year old Dougie
It would be an inspiration for the children
Teacher Jodie Munley says Tom is a wonderful children's author and it would really inspire the children to have him visit or make contact.
"He's probably going to have to drive past the school to get to Eden from wherever he might be staying. It would be amazing if he would just pop in and see us.
"We've sent him a Charlestown hoodie that he can even wear. Even if he just let us know what he thought of our video that would be amazing as well."

The school want people to help share their amazing video and brilliantly worded song to Tom and are asking them to share to social media and also tag Tom Fletcher, McFly, and Giovanni Fletcher in the hope someone sees their hard work and love for reading his books and that he might pay them a visit or make contact.
McFly are due to perform an Eden Session this Sunday, September 12th.
