Two Cornish teenagers are taking on a 10-mile walk in support of their friend, who is battling a rare form of liver cancer.
Charlie Buckley and Kieran Owen are walking from Harlyn Bay to Bedruthan Steps today (July 30th), to support Barney Price from Liskeard.
The 15-year-old is undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed earlier this year.
The teenagers said: "It all happened so quickly, one minute Barney (15) is this lively, energetic person then next going through chemotherapy and treatment to save his life from a rare form of liver cancer".
Barney's football team will also be joining the sponsored walk expected for around 40 people to gather on the day.
Kieran said: "We told him, we were keeping it secret for a little bit because he might've turned it down and said he didn't want that kind of attention.
"We both went round his house and told him, his face lit up in joy I'm pretty sure. I think he's really excited to go see everyone and be outside".
Charlie and Kieran have told us the event has shown how many people are there to support Barney.
Kieran continued: "He's had quite a lot of support from the football team, his rugby team, all sending him cards and lovely messages and everything.
"He's quite sporty in himself he used to play rugby and football so we just thought let's do something about exercise and he might enjoy that and be intrigued".
Any money raised will be shared between the charities Young Lives vs Cancer and MollyOllys, who have been supporting Barney and his family.
