Changes to Plymouth Argyle's pre-season schedule have been announced.

Due to the Home Park pitch undergoing a resurface during the off-season, it will not be ready to host the planned fixtures against Forest Green Rovers and Salford City on Saturday 22 July and 25 July, respectively.

The fixture against Forest Green Rovers will continue to take place but will now occur behind-closed-doors at Harper's Park, while the Salford City game has been cancelled completely.

The club are looking into the feasibility of streaming the Forest Green Rovers game and will have updates in due course.

The Pilgrims have also added an additional fixture to the schedule in the shape of a game with a League One side which will take place this Saturday, 15 July behind-closed-doors, and will not be open to supporters.

Steven Schumacher said: "The team we're going to have asked us not to publicise who it is because it will attract fans through the stadium and they want to keep it behind closed doors for safety reasons".

His side were due to play a behind-closed-doors game against an unnamed Premier League side, but this fixture will now replace this.

The extra match this weekend adds another competitive fixture to the Greens’ build-up to the highly anticipated new campaign, augmenting a pre-season portfolio of games which has started with a 1-0 win over cinch Scottish Premiership side Heart of Midlothian, and a 2-0 victory against Plymouth Parkway.

  • Saturday 22 July - Forest Green Rovers (H) - behind-closed-doors
