When and where it could snow in Cornwall as temperatures plummet

According to BBC Weather, there is a 30% to 60% chance of light flurries across the Duchy on Tuesday 9th February

As Storm Darcy brings heavy snow to parts of the UK, there IS a chance of the white stuff in Cornwall.

According to BBC Weather, there is 30% - 50% probability of light flurries from mid-morning on Tuesday 9th Februrary.

The Met Office has not issued any official warnings for the white stuff in the Duchy.

However, an amber alert for cold weather remains in force until Wednesday.

Temperatures are expected to drop to as low as -1C overnight on Tuesday, with the risk of frost.

What does BBC Weather say?

Penzance - A 44% chance of light snow showers from 1pm, increasing to 64% at 5pm and lasting until 10pm.

St Ives - A 44% chance of light snow showers from 1pm, increasing to 63% at 5pm and lasting until 10pm.

Camborne - A 51% chance of light snow showers from 1pm. A 47% chance of heavy snow showers between 7pm and 8pm, with more forecast until 10pm.

Falmouth - A 28% chance of light snow showers from 10am. A 59% chance of heavy snow showers at 4pm, with more forecast until the early hours.

Truro - A 23% chance of light snow showers from 9am. A 46% chance of heavy snow showers at 4pm, with more forecast until the early hours.

St Austell - A 23% chance of light snow showers from 9am. A 46% chance of heavy snow showers at 4pm, with more forecast until the early hours.

Newquay - A 43% chance of light snow showers from 2pm on, increasing to 55% at 6pm and lasting until 9pm.

Bodmin - A 60% chance of light snow showers from 8am but then decreasing and ending at 4pm.

Liskeard - A 16% chance of light snow showers from 9am, increasing to 31% at 1pm and lasting until 3pm. A slight chance of light snow showers between 8pm and 9pm.

Launceston - A 22% chance of light snow showers from 11am but then decreasing and ending at 1pm.

Saltash - A 29% chance of light snow showers from 11am, increasing to 33% at 12pm and lasting until 3pm. A slight chance of light snow showers between 9pm and 10pm.

Bude - A 15% - 18% chance of light snow showers from 11am, lasting until 12pm.

"Today (Tuesday): A frosty start, then a largely dry but cloudy day with some sunny spells. Wintry showers are possible along the south coast throughout, where winds will also strengthen, with gales in places. Feeling very cold with brisk winds. Maximum temperature 2 °C.

"Tonight (Tuesday) : Remaining largely dry through the evening and overnight, but further isolated showers over southern coasts remain possible. Feeling very cold with strong winds, and further frost likely. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

"Wednesday: After a frosty start, it will be a largely dry day with patchy cloud and plenty of sunny spells. Occasional showers possible along southern coasts. Feeling cold. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

"Outlook for Thursday to Saturday: Largely dry Thursday but showers, some wintry, along southern coasts, and possible coastal gales. Further wintry showers and coastal gales Friday and Saturday. Feeling cold throughout, with overnight frosts".
