A casualty has been flown to hospital with serious injuries following a crash in Cornwall.

Two vehicles were involved on the A390 at West Taphouse, between Lostwithiel and Dobwalls, just after 3pm on Friday afternoon (20th May).

The road was closed and emergency services were called to the scene.

At the time, Devon & Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on the A390 near at West Taphouse, Lostwithiel at around 3.05pm today, Friday 20th May.

"One person has been flown to hospital with serious injuries. The extent of any other injuries is unknown at this time.

"The incident is ongoing."

Traffic was reported to be slow in the area but it has since been confirmed that the road has now reopened.

"The earlier closure has been lifted with no major delays."

Another crash at West Taphouse is now being reported but it is unclear if this is related to the first incident.

As of 7pm, Inrix Traffic and Travel says the A390 Grenville Road in both directions is closed, there is very slow traffic due to an accident from West Taphouse Turnoff (West Taphouse) to B3268 (Polscoe).
