Two casualties taken to hospital after 'serious' crash on Cornish peninsula

Two people have been treated in hospital after a crash on Cornwall's Rame Peninsula

A car ended up on its roof at Antony near Torpoint on Saturday afternoon.

The incident had been described as serious and blocked the A374 for several hours

However, police have since confirmed that both casualties had made it out of the vehicle and their injuries are not thought to be serious.

They were taken to Derriford as a precaution.

"Police were called to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision on the A374, near Antony, Torpoint, at around 4.35pm, on Saturday 8 May.

"On arrival, a car was found on its roof and the two people inside had got out and did not appear to have any serious injuries but both were taken to Derriford Hospital as a precaution.

"The road was blocked as a result of the collision and was reopened at about 8pm".
