Photos show the aftermath of a car having crashed through the window of a charity shop in the centre of Bodmin.

The vehicle was pictured half hanging out of the Cancer Research site on Lower Fore Street.

It was reported to have reversed out of a parking space shortly before the incident happened on Tuesday evening (30th August).

Emergency services, including police and firefighters, were at the scene, which was cordoned off.

In a statement, Devon & Cornwall Police said they were called to reports of a single-vehicle RTC at around 5pm.

The force said: "Police were notified of reports of a collision involving a car and a shop in Fore Street, Bodmin, at around 5pm on Tuesday 30th August.

"There were no reports of any injuries and the vehicle was recovered".

Locals later shared photos of the scale of the damage on social media, saying staff were still inside the building at 8pm.

Paul, who tweeted this image, told us: "All I can say is that it's lucky it happened when it did.

"Earlier in the day Fore Street would have been much busier".
