Car crashes into hedge in 'serious accident' on busy Cornwall road

The stretch of road near Stithians was closed

A car has reportedly crashed into a hedge on a busy road in Cornwall.

Inrix Traffic and Travel described the accident as 'serious' and reported that the A394 had to be closed in both directions.

The crash happened in the Rame Cross area at around 10.45am on Thursday morning.

"Road both ways closed due to serious accident between A394 (Rame Cross) and Stithians.

"Affecting traffic between Rame Cross and Stithians."

Devon and Cornwall Police say an off-duty officer helped at the scene.

"Police received a report at around 10.45am of car colliding with a hedge at Stithians, near Truro.

"Members of the public including an off-duty police officer gave initial assistance to a male occupant at the scene."
