Campaign to help fund ear surgery for deaf dog in Cornwall
Louie the Shar Pei is being looked after by the RSPCA
A campaign has launched to help fund ear surgery for a deaf dog in Cornwall.
Louie the Shar Pei is being looked after by the RSPCA in the Duchy.
The pooch has suffered from a number of health conditions and was in a great deal of pain when he was taken in by the charity in July.
Louie now needs ear canal surgery in both ears as they were left untreated for so long.
Now the rescue centre is trying to raise £2,000 for an operation to help him.
You can find the Just Giving page here.
"Poor Louie came into our care in July with multiple health issues, and he was in a great deal of pain. In the short time we have had him, he has already been through Entropion surgery (a condition in where the eyelid turns inward and the eyelashes and skin rub against the eyes surface) and neutering, but that sadly isn't where it ends for Louie. As now, he also needs ear canal surgery in both ears. Currently, Louie has minimal hearing because his ears were left untreated for so long, but unfortunately, having this surgery means that Louie will be totally deaf afterwards.
"Louie is the sweetest dog, he has so much love to give. He deserves the best possible chance at a pain free life.
"We are a self funded branch which means that we raise all funds for the animals ourselves, and now that Louie needs yet another surgery, we need your help. The surgery Louie needs costs £2000, if we surpass our goal, then any extra money will go straight into the other animals we have in our care."
