Young pedestrian suffers serious injury after collision in Truro

A 14-year-old boy has suffered what is being described as a potentially life-changing injury after a collision with a car in Truro.

Police say the teenager was rushed to hospital following the incident on Falmouth Road.

The casualty's ankle injury is described as serious but not life-threatening.

The collision happened shortly before 6pm, closing the road for over an hour.

A spokesperson from Devon & Cornwall Police said: "Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Falmouth Road, Truro at around 5.50pm on Monday 10th October.

"A 14-year-old boy sustained an ankle injury which was described as potentially life-changing but not life-threatening. He was taken to hospital.

"Local road closures were put in place and the road reopened at around 7.05pm".
