Police are investigating after a boy died after being hit by a van in Redruth.

It happened at around 3.35pm on Monday 13 March. Emergency services were called to Agar Road at the junction with Wilson Way, after reports of a collision involving a white Iveco van and the 12 year old.

Sadly, the boy died at the scene from his injuries. His family have been made aware and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Police now want to speak to anyone who saw anything, or who may have dashcam footage.

A 67-year-old man from Hayle has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by driving without due care and attention and on suspicion of driving whilst unfit.

He is currently in custody.

Anyone who saw anything is asked to contact officers on 101.
