Boris Johnson has been remembering the life of the Duke of Edinburgh as part of a special visit to Devon.

The Prime Minister visited the Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth, where the Duke of Edinburgh originally met the Queen (then Princess Elizabeth) in 1940.

Mr Johnson saw a naval officer passing out parade and observed a minute's silence in memory of Prince Philip, who died last week at the age of 99.

Commemorative services also took place across Devon yesterday (15 April), in places including Torbay, Plymouth and Exeter.

Members of the public could not attend though, due to coronavirus restrictions.

The Duke of Edinburgh's funeral will take place on Saturday (17 April).
