Boost for Cornwall Airport as operator launches new route from Newquay
Aer Lingus is set to become the only regional link between Northern Ireland and Cornwall

One of two new routes announced by Aer Lingus today, Cornwall Airport Newquay's welcoming the addition of flights to Northern Ireland - starting in April 2023.
In their latest announcement, Cornwall Airport Newquay say Aer Lingus Regional will commence their new link to Belfast City from the Summer, adding nearly 14,000 seats during the peak season.
Launching a four-times weekly service, the carrier will start operations from 3 April - in a bid to further expand the connectivity of the airport.
Aer Lingus Regional has also confirmed an increased frequency of its Dublin service from its existing four-times weekly to daily next summer.
The airport say passengers will now be able to fly from Cornwall to North America, via Dublin.
In addition, passengers will be able to complete US Immigration pre-clearance in Dublin before boarding connecting flights, saving lots of time and hassle when arriving stateside.
Commenting on the latest airline announcement, Amy Smith, Head of Commercial, Cornwall Airport Newquay said: “It’s fantastic that Aer Lingus Regional sees the potential of not only increasing the frequency of our Dublin connection, but also adding a new destination to Belfast for our passengers. We expect fantastic results from both routes next year due to the enhancement of destination options available to those wishing to fly from Cornwall.”
Smith adds: “The new routes also increase opportunity for overseas markets to reach us with ease, helping us support Cornish tourism.”
