Body pulled from water near Torpoint Ferry

Police have confirmed that a body has been found in the water near the Torpoint Ferry.

MOD officers and paramedics were called to the area just before 11am on Friday morning.

A person was pulled from the water and sadly they could not be saved.

Police are now trying to work out the person's identity and locate their family.

"Police were called at 10.55am today, 18th September, following concern for the welfare of a person found in the water near Torpoint Ferry.

"The person was pulled from the water and pronounced deceased at the scene.

"MOD Police and ambulance are in attendance.

"Enquiries are being made to ascertain the person's identity and locate next of kin."
