Body of missing diver recovered from the sea off the Isles of Scilly

The body of a missing diver has been recovered from the sea off the Isles of Scilly.

The man had failed to resurface following a dive last week and his body has now been brought back to shore.

Police have confirmed that the man was a 55-year-old from Huddersfield and his family have been told.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

In a statement, Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The body of a diver who failed to resurface following a dive in the sea off the Isles of Scilly has been recovered and brought to shore.

"Police divers, using specialist equipment, recovered his body on Thursday 5th August.

"The family of the 55-year-old man, from Huddersfield, have been informed.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time and a file is being prepared for the coroner."
