Police searching for a missing man from the Redruth area have found a body.

The discovery was made near Station Road in Pool on Friday afternoon and officers say the body of a man in his 50s was found at the scene.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

The family of missing Christopher Stevens have been told about the update.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called to location near Station Road, Pool, Redruth just before 3:30pm on Friday 11th February follow reports of a body having been located.

"Emergency services attended a found the body of a man in his 50’s; his death is not being treated as suspicious and his next of kin have been informed.

"A file is to be prepared for the coroner.

"The family of Christopher Stevens, who has been reported missing from the Redruth area early this week have been informed of this update."
