Police searching for missing Cornwall man Frank Parsons find a body

The 53-year-old was last seen at the Porthleven Food Festival

Police searching for a man from Cornwall, who has been missing for almost two weeks, have found a body.

James Parsons, who is better known as Frank, Fran or Jimmy, was last seen at the Porthleven Food Festival on Friday 22nd April.

Officers say HM Coastguard teams recovered a body from the sea off St Mary's on the Isles of Scilly on Wednesday.

Devon and Cornwall Police say 53-year-old Frank's family have been informed.

They added that the death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

In a statement, police said: "The body of a man has been found in the search for 53-year-old James 'Frank' Parsons, who was reported missing from the Porthleven area of Cornwall on 22nd April.

"Police were contacted by HM Coastguard with a report that a body had been located and recovered from the sea off St Mary’s, at the Isles of Scilly, at around noon on Wednesday 4th May.

"The family of Mr Parsons have been informed of the discovery.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner".
