The Bishop of Truro has shared a Christmas message to people in Cornwall - telling people in the county they are "not alone".

This year he reflects on the changes that have happened during the year - including the cost-of-living crisis, the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and the post-pandemic world we're living in - telling us we're all together this Christmas.

He said: "Change inevitably creates some fear and uncertainty.

"Change is hard because as human's we're drawn to the comfort and safety in familiarity. But the Christmas message is that we are not alone.

"It has certainly been a year of change and it has at times been a year of chaos. For many of us this Christmas will not be the usual Christmas of food and gifts in abundance. For many people in our communities are facing the unimaginable task of choosing between heat and light, food and fuel.

"The number of people in poverty and without a home of their own have risen here in Cornwall and continue to do so".

Bishop Philip also reflected on the challenges faced by himself and everyone during the year:

"In our diocese too we've been facing up to the challenge of change as together we seek to be fruitful and sustainable in a post-pandemic world.

"It isn't easy but we're beginning to see the first green shoots of what is to come".
