A young biker has suffered life-changing injuries after a serious crash at Par near St Austell.

The 23-year-old man was rushed to Derriford Hospital after the motorbike collision.

It happened in the early hours of Saturday morning (8th October), closing the A3082 through the night.

Devon & Cornwall Police say officers from the Roads Policing Team attended to investigate.

The force is urging anyone who witnessed the incident at 12.30am to contact them. They also want to hear from anyone with dashcam footage from before the collision.

The force said: "A 23-year-old man is in a serious condition following a collision involving a motorcycle which happened on the A3082, Par, St Austell, on Saturday 8th October.

"Police were notified at around 00.30am to the incident which involved a black Suzuki motorcycle at the junction of Middleway and St Blazey Road.

"As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist sustained life-changing injuries and is currently in Derriford hospital. His next of kin have been informed.

"Officers from the Roads Policing Team attended the collision to investigate and establish how the collision occurred.

"Witnesses are requested to contact Devon and Cornwall Police via 101 with information quoting log number 29 of 8th October 2022.

"Police would like to hear from anyone with dashcam footage prior to the collision".
