Biker suffers life-threatening injuries following a serious crash near Helston

Police have confirmed a serious crash on the outskirts of Helston has left a young biker with life-threatening injuries.

The 18-year-old's motorbike was the only vehicle involved in the collision on Sunday morning (25th September).

It happened at the junction for Gilly Hill, Cury shortly before 11am and the road was closed for over eight hours.

Paramedics and Cornwall Air Ambulance were also scrambled.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any relevant dashcam footage is being asked to contact Devon & Cornwall Police.

A force spokesperson said: "Police are seeking witnesses to a motorcycle collision in Helston which left a man with life-threatening injuries.

"Emergency services were called at 10.45am on Sunday 25th September after the collision involving a Honda 125cc motorcycle on Gilly Hill, Cury".

"The motorcyclist, an 18-year-old man from Helston, was airlifted to Derriford Hospital by air ambulance.

"The road was closed in both directions for more than eight hours while the scene was examined by a specialist forensic collision investigator.

Officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team attended and are appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact them. They would also like to hear from anyone with relevant dashcam footage.
