Biker airlifted to hospital following serious crash near Bude

A biker has been airlifted to Derriford hospital following a serious crash near Bude.

A car and a motorbike were involved on the A3073 at around 4pm on Tuesday afternoon (31st May).

Police say paramedics and the air ambulance were called to the scene and the male motorcyclist has suffered serious injuries.

Road closures are in place and the area is currently blocked.

A Devon & Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 4pm today, 31st May, following a collision between a motorcycle and a car at Thorn Cross junction/Kings Hill, Bude.

"Ambulance and air ambulance are on scene.

"Male motorcyclist has sustained serious injuries and is being airlifted to Derriford.

"Closures are on at the A39/junction with Kings Hill/Box’s Shop."

Traffic is said to be queuing in the area.

Inrix Traffic and Travel says: "A3073 in both directions closed, queueing traffic due to accident, a car and a motorbike involved between A3072 Stratton Road and A39.

"The A39 is also closed as a result."

As of 7pm the road remains shut.
