Newquay businesses leaders are hoping to boost sales for smaller businesses by calling for the public to spend their Christmas money at their post-Christmas sales.

Newquay BID says every purchase helps small businesses stay open as they deal with rising costs and online competition.

Mark Warren, BID Manager believes they have lots to offer. He said: "There are lots of business that are bespoke that you won't find anywhere else in the country".

He's urging people to shop on their local high streets saying 2026 looks set to be challenging for businesses. He said: "I don't think the budget did us any favours. I think if anything the national minimum wage will challenge them because their wage bills are going to go up."

Cornish high streets are full of independent sellers with calls for us to choose them over the big national retailers for our post Christmas shopping.
