Two men arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Liskeard

A man remains in hospital with serious injuries

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an 'altercation' in Liskeard.

Police were called to Fore Street at around 10.30pm on Wednesday night (30th June).

A 29-year-old man had suffered a suspected stab wound to his side and was given medical treatment.

He was taken to hospital where he remains with serious injuries.

Following searches of the area two 29-year-old men were arrested and remain in custody.

Officers say enquiries are ongoing and anyone who saw what happened is urged to get in touch.

"Police were called at 10.30pm on Wednesday 30th June to Fore Street, Liskeard, following reports of an altercation.

"It was reported that a 29-year-old man has sustained a suspected stab wound to his side.

"He received medical treatment at the scene and was later taken to hospital where he remains with serious injuries.

"Following initial enquiries and a search of the area, two men, aged 29, from Liskeard have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. They remain in police custody at this time.

"Officers remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing at this time."
