A man has been arrested and police remain in the area
A man has been found in the street with serious injuries following an incident in Saltash.
Police were called to the town in the early hours of this morning (2nd February) after reports of an argument.
A injured man was found in the Tamar Street area and has been taken to hospital.
A 29-year-old local man has been arrested and currently remains in custody.
Officers are still in the area trying to work out what happened, anyone with information is being urged to get in touch.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "Police are investigating an incident which took place in the early hours of Wednesday 2nd February in Saltash.
"It was reported that a possible altercation had been seen on Lower Fore Street before the individuals left the area on foot.
"A man was located in the area of Tamar Street with multiple serious injuries. He has been taken to hospital where he remains at this time.
"A 29-year-old man from Saltash has been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in police custody at this time.
"Officers remain in the area at this time and a number of enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident."
