Arrest made after serious crash near Bude left biker in hospital

An arrest has been made after a biker in his 40s suffered serious injuries in a crash near Bude.

Luckily police say his condition is not described as life-changing or life-threatening.

The A3073 was closed for around five hours on Tuesday evening (31st May) after a car and motorbike collided.

Paramedics and the air ambulance were called to the scene and the casualty was airlifted to Derriford Hospital.

A spokesperson for Devon & Cornwall Police said: "The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, sustained a serious injury but his condition is not described as life-changing or life-threatening.

"Road reopened at 9.15pm.

"A man in his 40s from Bude was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs. He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries."
