Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following assault in Bodmin

Police say a man in his 40s suffered a stab wound

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following reports of a serious assault in Bodmin.

Police were called to Rhind Street at around 7.45pm on Wednesday 21st July.

A man aged in his 40s sustained a stab wound to his leg and was taken to hospital, where remains in a stable condition.

Officers subsequently attended an address in Par where a 29-year-old man from the Liskeard area was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and assault.

He remains in police custody at this time.

"Police would like to reassure the community this was an isolated incident.

"It is believed both parties are known to each other. Nobody else is currently being sought in connection with the incident.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
