Armed police have been called to Helston amid reports of 'threats' being made'.

Officers got the shout to the Trengrouse Way area at 1.40pm on Friday afternoon (22nd October).

Searches were carried out at the scene and it has been confirmed that a man has been detained.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "We received reports of threats being made in the Trengrouse Way area of Helston at around 1.40pm.

"Officers, including armed units, have attended the scene and carried out searches of the area.

"One man has been detained in connection with the incident."
