A plea is going out for more volunteers at Cornwall's mass coronavirus vaccination centres.

Over 300 are currently helping out at the Stithians and Royal Cornwall showgrounds.

However, some of those are now returning to work and university.

As a result, Volunteer Cornwall has issued an appeal for more recuits.

It says the NHS has asked them to help make sure people coming for their jabs feel welcomed, comfortable and safe.

"Can you join us in protecting the community and saving lives?

"Volunteer Cornwall are recruiting more volunteers to help out at the 2 mass vaccination sites at Stithians and Wadebridge.

"The NHS in Cornwall have asked us to help them make sure people coming for their vaccinations feel welcomed, comfortable and safe.

"Despite having 300+ volunteers actively supporting at the sites, we are now seeing some of them return to work and university so we need some more recruits!

"We are looking for volunteers that can make a regular commitment of a minimum of 4 hours per 7-day week (16 hours per month).

"Many thanks, Heidi & the Mass Vacc Team at Volunteer Cornwall".
