An appeal has been launched to help a family of five after their home was destroyed in a fire in St Austell.

The blaze broke out in the town last Friday afternoon (23rd July) and the house was gutted by the flames.

Friend Larissa Hesketh says they have been left with nothing and are living in temporary accommodation.

She's set up a Go Fund Me page to try and raise money for essential items like clothes.

It has already smashed its target and reached over £3,000.

You can find the Go Fund Me page here.

Setting up the fundraising campaign, Larissa said:

"I’m fundraising for Sharon, Pete, Hollie, Shauna and Adam Martin! This afternoon their family home was destroyed by a devastating fire which has now made them homeless, they’re currently in temporary accommodation.

"I’m raising this money for them to be able to get themselves some clothes, shoes, socks etc which they’re in desperate need of as the fire started upstairs and they’ve lost everything. The only clothes they have are the ones they left the house in.

"Anything raised help them greatly! Thank you for your time."
