Police appeal after thieves take £15k worth of gardening equipment near Bodmin

Officers report thieves breaking into Glynn Valley Crematorium back in June

Police are asking for your help after thieves broke into Glynn Valley Crematorium near Bodmin.

It happened over a weekend in late June, with £15,000 worth of gardening gear and tools taken—including leaf blowers, hedge cutters, a lawn mower, and a cement mixer.

Officers say the suspects also damaged a vehicle and forced their way into a container, and they’re keen to hear from anyone who saw anything or has relevant footage from around the crematorium.

In a statement, Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses, information and relevant footage following a burglary at Glynn Valley Crematorium.

"The break-in took place between 5pm on Friday 27 June and 9am on Monday 30 June.

"The suspects damaged a vehicle and forced entry to a container before stealing £15,000 worth of gardening equipment and tools.

"Items stolen included leaf blowers, hedge cutters, a lawn mower, a pressure washer, strimmers and a cement mixer.

"We appreciate the offence occurred some time ago, but officers are continuing to investigate it and it is hoped the public may still be able to assist.

"Anybody with information, or footage from the area over the weekend in question which may be of relevance, is asked to contact 101 or our website quoting 50250166355."
