Air ambulance called to serious crash near St Austell

At least two people are believed to have been injured

An appeal has gone out after a serious crash near St Austell.

Two cars collided near Mevagissey on Tuesday morning and police, firefighters and the air ambulance were all called to the scene.

Closures have been put in place on the B3273 while the incident is ongoing.

Officers say there are two casualties, but their injuries are not thought to be life-changing.

Anyone who saw what happened or who has dashcam footage is asked to get in touch.

"Police were called to the B3273 AT Mevagissey, St Austell, at around 9.45am this morning with a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a BMW and a Citroen.

"The fire service and air ambulance are also on the scene.

"At least two casualties, extent of injuries not known at present but they are not thought to be life-changing or threatening.

"Road closure from the Tregiskey junction in place, both ways.

"Incident ongoing."
