Concerns have been raised over a possible rise in cases of Covid-19 in Cornwall.

One of the Duchy's public health officials says there are steps we can still take to reduce our chances of falling ill.

Dr Ruth Goldstein says we should stay at home if we feel unwell, and continue to wash our hands thoroughly.

However, she says a new lockdown isn't likely: "People won't get as poorly as they may have done and we won't see the real harm that we saw during the pandemic.

"It's about taking those really sensible steps. Numbers are increasing but we can stop that and we can live with it."

Dr Goldstein adds: "If you are not feeling well with cold and flu-like symptoms, please don't go to work and please don't send your kids to school.

"Covid is the most sociable disease we know and you will just pass it on to lots of other people."
