A busy stretch of the A39 was closed following a crash between Penryn and Falmouth.

Both directions were shut between the Ponsharden and Hillhead roundabouts and there was queuing traffic in the area.

It is understood that the collision happened heading up the hill on Tuesday evening.

The road has now reopened in both directions but currently remains blocked.

Inrix Traffic and Travel says: "A39 in both directions partially blocked, queueing traffic due to accident from A39 (Hillhead roundabout, Penryn) to B3292 Falmouth Road (Ponsharden Roundabout, Bissom).

"Affecting traffic passing Penryn, between the roundabouts."
