Drivers are being reminded that part of the A30 is closed this weekend.

It follows a week of overnight closures, as part of upgrade works being carried out by National Highways.

The road is currently shut between Boxheater and Scorrier until 6.00am on Monday 29 January.

Traffic will be diverted via the B3285, A3075 and B3277 and HGVs advised to utilise the A383, A390 and A39 due to a low bridge.

Work this week has involved drainage, central reservation work, barrier construction, and structural construction activities across various locations of the scheme.

Neil Winter, National Highways’ Senior Project Manager for the A30 scheme, said: "We have a number of closures planned in the coming weeks as we move towards opening the new dual carriageway later this year.

"After this latest phase of work, motorists won’t see any difference to their journeys but we appreciate the closures will have an impact.

"In the meantime we advise people to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys, and we thank people in advance for their patience as we move towards completing this massive road upgrade for Cornwall."

The new A30 dual carriageway is scheduled to be opened at the end of this winter.
