Stretch of A30 closed both ways after serious crash on Hayle bypass

Emergency services have been at the scene of a serious crash on Cornwall's A30.

Two vehicles were involved in the collision on the Hayle bypass.

It happened in the early hours of Friday morning (11th June).

Police and firefighters from Hayle and Tolvaddon were called just before 2am.

The road was closed in both directions for accident investigation work but reopened just before 9am.

Devon & Cornwall Police have confirmed one of the vehicles was a police car and a driver in his 20s has suffered serious injuries: Read more.

"Devon and Cornwall Police lead the response to this incident and have closed the carriageway due to a serious collision.

"Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed the need for full collision investigations at scene and as such the road is expected to remain closed throughout the morning.

"Diversions are signed by the solid diamond diversion symbol and are via the B3301 through Hayle.

"If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey".
