Police say a woman has suffered serious injuries

A stretch of the A30 was closed in Cornwall after a car crashed into the central reservation.

Emergency services were called to the scene after it happened between Fraddon and Victoria on Thursday afternoon.

The air ambulance was also tasked and a woman is believed to have suffered serious injuries.

She has been taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

It has been confirmed that the road has now reopened in both directions, following hours of delays in the area.

At the time police said: "Emergency services are currently in attendance on the A30 at St Columb following reports of that a vehicle had been in collision with the central reservation.

"One woman is believed to have sustained serious injuries and is being taken to Derriford hospital.

"The incident is ongoing."

Devon and Cornwall Police

The update from Inrix Traffic and Travel at 6.15pm: "Queueing traffic due to earlier accident, a car involved on A30 Westbound between the B3274 Victoria turn-off (Victoria) and A39 (Indian Queens, Fraddon). All lanes have been re-opened.

"Police gave confirmed the road has now reopened, delays remain.

"Diversion - vehicles should follow the route marked by the solid square."
