Stretch of A30 closed in west Cornwall following crash

A stretch of the A30 was closed in west Cornwall following a crash involving a car and a motorbike.

Police say it happened on the eastbound carriageway near Loggans, Hayle, just before midday.

One listener reported that the collision was caused by a vehicle doing a u-turn in the area, but that has not been confirmed.

It is not yet known if anyone has been seriously injured but emergency services were called to the scene.

The road has since reopened.

"Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a motorbike, on the eastbound carriageway of the A30, near Loggans, Hayle, at around 11.50am today 29 June.

"The extent of any injuries is unclear at present.

"A local road closure has been put in place at the scene to allow emergency services to deal with the collision.

"The incident is ongoing."

Devon and Cornwall Police

At the time there was queuing traffic in the area and delays due to congestion and onlookers.

"Accident cleared on A30 Hayle Bypass Eastbound from A3074 Nut Lane (St Erth roundabout, Lelant) to B3301 Carwin Rise (Loggans Moor roundabout, Hayle).

"This has since cleared, after the road was closed around 12:05."
