Man taken to hospital with serious injuries after A30 crash near Bodmin Moor

A man has been taken to hospital after an early morning crash on the A30 in north Cornwall.

Inrix Traffic and Travel says that two vehicles were involved in the Bodmin Moor area at Lewannick.

Police, paramedics and fire crews were all called to the scene and it is reported that one vehicle overturned.

Officers say that one man, who was trapped in his vehicle, has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Another man suffered minor injuries.

Originally the road was closed in both directions but one lane has now re-opened in each direction.

There is still heavy traffic in the area and it is affecting anyone travelling between Launceston and Bodmin on Tuesday morning.

"Emergency services are currently in attendance at the A30 Lewannick following reports of a two vehicle collision.

"One man is believed to have sustained minor injuries.

"A second man, who was reported to be trapped in his vehicle, is believed to have sustained serious injuries, not thought to be life threatening or changing. He has been taken to hospital.

"The road was blocked in both directions buts closures have since been lifted."

"One lane closed and heavy traffic due to accident, two vehicles involved on A30 in both directions near B3257 (Bodmin Moor Services).

"One lane has now been opened in each direction following the earlier closure.

"Affecting traffic between Launceston and Bodmin. Reports say one of the vehicles overturned."
