The A30 has been closed in both directions following a crash near Bodmin.

It is understood that the collision occurred on the eastbound side of the road, between Carminow Cross and the Innis Downs junction.

There is queuing traffic in the area with congestion through the middle of Bodmin because of diverted traffic.

The westbound side has also been shut so the air ambulance can land.

Emergency services are on the scene but it is not yet known how serious any injuries may be.

Inrix Traffic and Travel says: "A30 in both directions closed, queueing traffic due to accident between A38 (Carminow Cross) and A391 (Innis Downs Junction). Congestion to the A389 through the centre of Bodmin as traffic diverts.

"Accident occurred on the eastbound side, Police have confirmed that westbound has also been shut to allow an air ambulance to land."

As of 7.10pm the road was still closed in both directions.
