A stretch of the A30 was closed near Bodmin following a rush hour crash.

Police have confirmed they were called to reports of a car hitting the central reservation just after 8am this morning (19th April).

The male driver was treated by paramedics but the extent of injuries is not yet known.

One Eastbound lane was shut at Carminnow Cross and there was queuing traffic in the area.

At the time there were also reports of congestion to the A38.

A spokesperson for Devon & Cornwall Police said: "We received reports a car had collided with the central reservation of the A30 at Carminnow Cross, Bodmin, at around 8.10am.

"Ambulance also attended the scene and the incident resulted in both lanes of the eastbound carriageway becoming blocked.

"The male driver of the car is in the care of paramedics. The extent of any injuries is not currently known, but they are not believed to be serious at this time.

"Recovery of the vehicle is being arranged and one lane of the carriageway has reopened."

It has now been confirmed that the road has completely reopened.

Inrix Traffic and Travel says: "All lanes open and traffic returned to normal, accident cleared on A30 Eastbound from A38 (Carminow Cross, Carminnow Cross) to A38 Launceston Road (Callywith, Bodmin).

"Previous congestion to the A38 which runs parallel through Bodmin as traffic diverts.

"Lane one (of two) was closed, the road was closed for 20 minutes at 08:30."
