300 Harry Potter fans including some from Falmouth's Youth Generation have succeeded in setting a Guinness World Record.

The wannabe witches and wizards, with ages ranging from five to 75, from 40 countries hopped onto their broomsticks at the same time on the date of the Quidditch World Cup, September 2.

They celebrated the boy wizard’s favourite sport, Quidditch, from J.K. Rowling's forthcoming illustrated hardback edition of 'Quidditch Through the Ages'.

The 'Most People to Simultaneously Board a Broom Online' has been verified by Guinness World Records with 133 households taking part in total.

“We’re thrilled that so many people took the time to take part in this successful Guinness World Records attempt. It’s wonderful that during this challenging time video sharing platforms allow fans to come together and celebrate in new and unique ways." __
