Drivers across Cornwall facing over a DOZEN road closures this week

National Highways says there will be 18 across the A30 and A38 in the Duchy

Drivers in and around Cornwall will have 18 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A30, from 7am December 20 2021 to 5pm January 21 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, Pennygillam to Lifton Down - Lane closures for Horticulture (Cutting and Planting).

• A30, from midnight, September 1 2020 to midnight, December 1 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 Carland Cross to Chiverton Cross improvement scheme.

• A30, from 8pm June 30 2021 to 6am December 1 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 Zelah narrow lanes and speed restriction for Chiverton to Carland improvement scheme.

And a further 15 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A38, from 9am January 4 to 4pm February 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 Twelvewoods to Trerulefoot mobile lane closures for drainage works.

• A30, from 9am January 4 to 4pm February 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 Treswithian to M5, junction 31 mobile lane closures in both directions for drainage works.

• A30, from 7pm January 4 to 5am February 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound and westbound, Penzance to Exeter mobile lane closures for drainage works.

• A30, from 8pm January 4 to 6am January 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 between Chiverton Cross and Carland Cross traffic signals for Chiverton to Carland improvement scheme.

• A30, from 8pm January 4 to 6am January 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, Chiverton Cross lane closure for Chiverton to Carland improvement scheme.

• A30, from 7am to 11am on January 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 Canon's Town traffic signals for Openreach.

• A30, from 7am to 10am on January 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 Callestick traffic signals for BT works.

• A30, from 7pm January 11 to 6am January 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, Launceston to Lifton Down lane closure for drainage works.

• A30, from 7pm January 12 to 6am January 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, Tolvaddon to Avers lane closure for drainage works.

• A38, from 7.30pm January 12 to 6am January 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound and westbound, Saltash Tunnel carriageway closures for maintenance works. , diversion via B3271.

• A38, from 8pm January 12 to 6am January 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 Trerulefoot to Notter Bridge mobile traffic signals for drainage and surfacing works.

• A30, from 7pm January 13 to 6am January 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 westbound, Avers to Tolvaddon lane closure for drainage works.

• A30, from 7pm January 13 to 6am January 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound and westbound, Tolvaddon exit slip lane closures for Cornwall Council works.

• A30, from 7pm January 14 to 6am January 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 westbound, Avers to Tolvaddon lane closure for drainage works.

• A30, from 7pm January 17 to 6am January 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, Tolvaddon to Avers lane closure for drainage works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
