It has been confirmed that Padstow's Obby Oss celebrations have been cancelled for 2021.

Hundreds of people usually join in the traditional celebrations and dances each year during the annual May Day event.

Now organisers have released a short statement saying it won't be going ahead this year.

"The Old Oss and the Blue Ribbon Obby Oss parties jointly announce that with deepest regret, May Day 2021 is cancelled."

It joins a string of other events in the Cornish calendar that have been cancelled for the second year in a row due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Under the government's current plans for the 'roadmap' out of lockdown, 30 people could be able to meet up outside from the 17th of May, with a limit on social contact hopefully being lifted on June 21st.
