Woman who left man in hospital after 'vicious attack' jailed
The victim, in his 60s, was taken to hospital for treatment
A woman who left a man in hospital after a “vicious attack” has been jailed.
Kayley Sedgwick, 33, went to Bloomfield Park in Huntingdon on June 28 last year with another man.
Together they attacked the victim, causing him to fall to the ground, where they repeatedly kicked him to his head and stamped on him.
The victim, a man in his 60s, went to hospital for treatment to injuries including a broken wrist.
When Sedgwick was arrested on August 1 last year in Ermine Street, Huntingdon, she made a comment to a man at the property naming the victim before officers had revealed his identity.
She later tried to explain what happened by describing a verbal altercation with the victim earlier in the day.
On September 2, at Cambridge Crown Court, Sedgwick, of no known address, pleaded guilty to assault causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
At the same hearing, she was jailed for 32 months.
DC Matthew Filby said: “This was a vicious attack and the injuries sustained by the victim could easily have been much worse given the level of violence.
“We will not tolerate violence like this on our streets and we will continue to do all we can to make Cambridgeshire an even safer place to live.”
