A child rapist who also repeatedly assaulted several other children has been jailed for 25 years.

32-year-old Shaun Bolingbroke's crimes came to light in October 2020, after attacking the child in June of the same year.

54 illicit images of children, as well as an image and video of Bolingbroke sexually abusing a dog, were found on his phone during searches. He later pleaded guilty to making indecent photos of children.

A jury found Bolingbroke guilty of raping a child under 13, and he was sentenced on July 23rd at Cambridge Crown Court.

He also pleaded guilty to possessing an extreme pornographic image, intercourse with an animal and four counts of cruelty to a person under 16 and handed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a restraining order.

"An incredibly dangerous offender"

DC Annette Renwick has praised the bravery of the children who gave evidence against Bolingbroke, describing him as "an incredibly dangerous offender".

DC Renwick said: "“Bolingbroke is an incredibly dangerous offender who has left the children he sickeningly abused with lasting mental scars. They have been so brave in giving their evidence.

"Bolingbroke preyed on their vulnerability, and I hope this sentence gives them and their families some comfort and the opportunity to move on with their lives.”
