Tap water on an estate near Cambridge is now safe to drink - after it was confirmed it meets the standards set out in UK legislation.

Independent Water Networks issued a 'do not drink' notice a week ago - after people started noticing the water tasted unusual.

The company say it'll investigate the cause of the incident - and take regular samples.

In a statement the company said:

"IWNL are pleased to report that recent precautionary notice is no longer necessary. The sample results have confirmed that the water meets the standards set out in UK legislation."

"We will now continue to focus our attention on our investigation into the cause of this event. Our engineers will remain on site to support this investigation with regular sampling.

"IWNL would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused."
